Screw Jo

I honestly have nothing good to say about Neill Sandler Ford. My experience with them went from bad to worse. It is kind of a lengthy story so please bear with me.

I went to Neill Sandler Ford and purchased a used 2002 Taurus with 43000 miles on it. (for 4 years old thats great miles!) The car was a recent trade-in and hadn't yet been cleaned up or serviced. I signed my papers on the car and they gave me a rental car to drive until it was ready. It was Tuesday and I was told it would be ready no later than Thursday.

Thursday rolled around, no word so I called them just to check the status. I was told it would be the weekend before it was ready. I thought okay maybe some slight delay but no worries.

On Friday afternoon my fiance went by the dealership to check it out, he hadnt yet seen it. He found it parked outside the service bay doors. He said they had put the new tires on it I had requested, however it still hadn't been cleaned up.

Saturday I called and was told it was not ready and would not be ready until Monday. My salesman told me that the hold-up was the tires. I knew this was a lie my fiance had just been down there the day before and saw that it had 4 brand new tires on it already. This made me a little angry, so I told him I knew that wasnt the hold up and I didnt appreciate the "run-around."

About 5 minutes later my salesman called me back and told me it was ready. My fiance and I arrived at the lot to find the car semi-clean. I was not immediately concerned with this I was just glad to finally get it.

Later that night I had an errand to run I pulled out of my driveway which is on a hill and the car (which is an automatic) was like caught in between 1st and 2nd gear the RPM's were going higher but I had no power. We thought maybe I just didnt have it in gear good so we just waited to see if it would happen again. After all I had a 30 day 3000 mile warrenty.

Sure enough about a week later it did it again. It was like the transmission was slipping. I called my salesman to tell him and see when I could bring it in. I forgot to ask him if they would be providing me with a rental car, so I had my fiance to call back to check with him.

Upon calling the salesman back he was very short and smart with my fiance. He said "I told her to bring it in whenever. Talk to the manager (he gave us his name) and he will get her a rental... Look man I gotta go today is my little girl's birthday." And the call ended like that. This upset me because we called him at the car lot not on his personal cell or even on his personal time!

We drove down to the lot which for us is about an hour drive. We had already made our minds up to complain about the rudeness of my salesman as well as the fact that my oil hadnt been changed (it still had a Wal-mart "fram" oil filter in it and according to the Wal-Mart sticker on the window, it was already 2000 miles past due, this was suppost to be included in the initial servicing), and just our overall dissatisfaction thus far.

We spoke to the Business Manager and explained to him why we were there and that the salesman had said he would provide us with a rental car. After explaining this whole mess, he looks at us throws his hands in the air and says "So what do you want me to do?" Needless to say we werent exactly happy with this reaction from the manager.

We didnt get a rental car that day he said he didnt know why the salesman told us that, so we drove the hour drive back home. We had an appt. For the following Monday. I took the car in on that Monday. The mechanic asked me what it was doing and I told him specifically.

On Wednesday of that same week I got a call that it was ready. He said the transmission part of the computer needed an update. I picked up the car on Thursday. On Friday morning on my way to work, as I was pulling out of my driveway, the car did it again. Problem not fixed!!!

I called the mechanic I dealt with in the service dept. When I got to work. He told me to bring it back in on Monday morning. I took it back in on Monday and he called me on Thursday and told me he couldnt get the car to do it so he couldnt fix it.

At this point my 30 day 3000 mile warrenty was less than a week from expiring. He said you can leave it down here as long as you want, but until I get it to act up, I cant fix it. The problem was very speratic and only occured about once a week, so there was no pattern. I asked the service dept. If in a month my transmission fell out if it would be covered since it was a "pre-existing" problem.

Their reply was "No after the thirty days are up nothing is covered reguardless of if its "pre-existing" or not. So basically I am stuck with this car that clearly has a serious transmission problem and the people at Neill Sandler Ford wont do anything for me.

I was not asking for a new car or money or anything foolish all I wanted was an extended warrenty because of the pre-existing transmission problem.in my opinion they owed me that, but instead all I got was lowsy customer service and a car with a transmission problem! These people were not easy to deal with and I can't say that I would reccommend them to anyone!
