This company is one of the only companies that make a header for my specific vehicle. The header that I purchased cost me $400 and was defective. I took the header to a profetional licenced exhaust shop to have it installed and there was a problem with it. The construction of the part would not fit on my exaust due to a defect in the manufacturing. When I called pacesetter to ask them about the problem they imediatly told me that they are aware of the problem and that they would be more than happy to send me another of the part free from defects. The cost to put this part on was around $250. I explained to the gentleman on the phone that I have already paid to have this one put on and that the exhaust shop told me that they would have to charge me to put on the new one too as it was not their fault. This shop also told me that they could cut me a deal on putting the new one on because it wasn't my fault either. The owner of the shop suggested calling pacesetter and explaining what was wrong and asking them to flip the bill on the new install due to their mistake and if I had any problems that he would be happy to talk with them to explain it better.
The rep from pacesetter told me that there was nothing they could do about the install charges for the new part or the old part and that the only thing they could do would be to let me have the defective part free of charge. Then the pacesetter rep told me I could sell that part to try to make up for some of my costs in the installs of both parts. I don't understand why a business like that would tell me to sell a defective piece to someone else. This is bad business ethics in the works and I don't like being told to partake in those kinds of acts.
