I bought a '99 Dodge Ram from Drivetime in phoenix, AZ back in may of 3 days after my 3 month warranty ran out my transmission had to be rebuilt. The cruise control messes up, the speedometer works when it wants to, and my Catalytic converter just recently went bad.
I went in to buy a new truck and trade my drivetime truck in, the dealership ran a carfax report and it came back with a branded title in california (Lemon Law/Manufacterer Buyback). I recieved an Experian AutoCheck report when I bought it, but they need a copy of the branded title for the buyback. So I contacted california DMV to get a copy, the told me the vehicle was still titled to Diamler Chrysler, and I couldnt get a copy. The vehicle is titled to me with a lien in Arizona.
Arizona does not have the same, Lemon Law/manu. Buyback, brand for their titles, so what dealerships do is buy Lemons in california transfer them to arizona and have a clean title.
Does anyone know if this is even legal, or is there anyone else with the same complaint, and does anyone know how I can get a copy of the branded california titled to Diamler chrysler?
