Edwards-Archer advertized a $150 "Service Center Gift Card" to come in and take a test drive. I had bought 2 previous new cars there-both Oldsmobile and was in the market for a new card. The test drive went fine and in fact I bought a new Hyundai there 2 weeks ago on the same occasion. (More about that in a later post).
When I got home I read the reverse of the "gift card" and I quote "Service Center Gift Cards are valid only at select dealerships where activated. This card entitles the card holder to a 15% discount on part and service up to $1,000. This offer is non transferable and expires 90 days from activation. Excludes work covered by the manufacturer."
Thus my $150 card will be worth between $3 and $5 since the most I could do with a new car is have one oil change in the given time period. All else is covered by the warrantee. They actually penalize a new card buyer by this and several other methods.
As a retired Air Force Reserve officier I read the other air force member's complaint with interest on this company (on this site). As a longtime clergyman in the Omaha area (35 years) I don't expect to be given any deals but I do expect honesty. This was to be only the beginning of my problems with this company. Apparently they are desperate
