My husband and I have over 18 years over the road experience combined. We quit a bad company in March after over 6 years there, and thought we were going somewhere good with Prime.
First let me say, in all our experience, we have never worked for a company that had nicer people than Prime. Our dispatch, payroll, and safety people are top notch. If the whole Prime system was as nice I wouldn't be on this web site.
We run flatbed and bust our butts. We take $200.00 a week cash advance which pays for all our food, incidentals, tolls, and extra equipment such as bungee's, patch material, etc. Every week we run at least 5 loads, since March we have averaged 5100 miles a week. This past pay period we grossed $6,310.76. We only brought home $230.43. Blahblahblahblah
Our truck is a three year lease. It guzzles diesel like its going out of style. We never drive faster than 65. All our loads are over 40,000. Blahblahblahblah
Since we have started with Prime we have got behind on all our bills. The house and the pickup are two months behind. Our electricity got cut off at the house. Blahblahblahblah
My point is this: their lease system sucks. We are quitting in 2 weeks and I can't wait. The last four years before we came to Prime we owned 2 trucks that were contracted with another company. We got tired of the responsibility, sold our trucks, but wanted to maintain our freedom without the hassle. Prime made it worse not better.
I wouldn't recommend Prime to anyone, unless you want to be a company driver. That side isn't so bad, I've seen a whole lot worse.
