We had booked a 24 foot truck from this office to be picked up on Monday 20th of May. The truck was to be collected at 9.30 and I had my movers ready at 10am at my house to start packing into the truck.
The movers charge $60 per hour. When my husband arrived to collect truck, they had no knowledge of our confirmation. However would assist us in giving us a 15 foot truck. I called their 800 number and was told that they could not assist me - the branch - and a lady by the name of Debbie is the only one that could.
According to Debbie only the 800 number could. Debbie called around and told my husband that there are no 24 foot trucks avail in the state of MO.
My husband called a branch where he had originally obtained a quote, and the branch is about 45 min's away. Lo and behold - they have a truck! And it is in the state of MO!
Right now it is 12 noon, my husband is on his way collecting the truck. I have the movers at my house and have pd them for 2 hours of sitting around.
I tried calling Ryder to see what they could do... Silly, I know.
Why should I be the one forking out more money due to the incompetence of Ryder? Why can't there be an authoritive figure at Ryder that could be held accountable for the errors caused by their employees? I am sick of being ripped off indirectly and directly. We were totally mistreated. This is total abuse.
