Bradley Auto Sales - Robert William Bradley - Ted Velo
Ripoff dishonest unethical fraudulent sales and business

November 14 purchased a Ford F-150 from Bradley Auto Sales in Modesto CA.in the amount of $9,773.71. It was registered and titled in a "or" contract with mine and my husbands' name.

December 19 unbeknownst to my husband, I changed title and registration to my name only as my husband and I had separated but he took the truck with him. My husband checked periodically with me to see if the title and registration had come in the mail. I told him no and I never told him I had changed them over to my name only.

January 6 I received a phone call from the salesman, Ted Velo who was speaking in a whisper type voice (as if he didn't want someone to hear). He wanted to talk with my husband regarding the truck. I told him if there were anymore dealings with the truck they would be done by me and me alone. I didn't mention I changed title.

January 8 I met my husband for lunch he still had the truck.

January 13 I attempted to file a stolen vehicle report

January 15 electronic smog certificate was issued (later discovered on a DMV printout on 6/07/04) somewhere in January my stolen vehicle report was lifted.

February 6 I spoke with my estranged husband inquiring of the truck. He stated the same dealer bought it back from him in an amount around $4,500. I asked how that could happen when I changed the "or" contract to my name only in December. My husband was stunned to learn what I had done. He told me he went back to them asking if they could get him a duplicate copy of registration and title since they never came in the mail. He said the salesman and the dealer had several conversations in a back room that didn't include my husband. Then one of them told my husband they would do him a favor and buy it back from him. The dealer then re-purchased the vehicle from my husband by using the original contract. There were no sign offs of title or registration by me.

February 6 I returned to Bradley Auto Sales inquiring of the truck and wanting it back. Salesman Ted Velo stated that truck was sold a long time ago. I asked how that was done. He stated the same way we do all our transactions. I stated your a crooked business then.

February 13 I moved from Stanislaus County, CA to Placer County, CA

May 26 I hand carried a "Record of Complaint" to the Stanislaus County-Stockton branch of DMV Investigations. I was told nothing could be done until an attempt of forgery had been done or a completed sale showing on the DMV system.

On my way home I received a phone call from the dealer Mr. Bradley. Were you aware of your husband selling the truck back to us? I stated yes I was aware of it. He continued saying that they were unaware of me changing the title of the vehicle to my name only and had resold the truck to someone else. He then stated he needed me to clean this up and remove my name from title. I told him I wasn't going to do that and he bought the truck back on false pretenses without a registration and title by using the original contract. Mr. Bradley stated he had the original registration and continued with, your husband came in here requesting a duplicate of registration and title because neither of you had received them at your home address. We then said we would buy the truck back from him.

June 8 hand carried a letter of demand to the dealership and requested to speak with salesman Ted Velo. I was informed he no longer is employed with them. My demand letter was for Bradley Auto Sales return the vehicle to me or give me $5,000. I also mailed a certified copy on June 13.

August I moved to Placer County, Sheridan, CA

June 13 filed Small Claims action in Stanislaus County. Case # 358XXX at The Superior Court of California 2260 Floyd Ave. Modesto CA 95355

September 13 Notice of Entry of Judgment: Defendant does not owe plaintiff any money on Plaintiff's claim. Ted Velo & Robert William Bradley Judge did not state who owned the vehicle.

May 7 Robert Bradley came to my place of residence in Sheridan (driving 2 hrs) asking to talk. I told him now was not a good time. He stated it wasn't a good time for him either. Mr. Bradley asked for the title of the truck. I stated I wasn't giving it to him. Mr. Bradley stated that the court had found him to be the owner of the truck. I stated that is not true. The judge only said you didn't owe me any money. Mr. Bradley stated if he didn't give the title to the guy he sold the truck to that, that guy was going to take me and Mr. Bradley to court. Good, I said; that's what I want. Mr. Bradley stated, so your refusing to give me the title? Yes, I said. Mr. Bradley then stated, that's all I want to know and then he left.

May 23 moved 5th wheel (my home) to repair shop. I'm presently staying with friends during repairs of the home.

June 30 I received a letter: Notice of Pending Lien Sale from Anderson Tow in Ceres Ca located at 2040 Rockefeller Dr. 95307 209-538-8637. I spoke on the phone to a clerk/dispatcher who at first told me they had no such truck. She had no paper work, ticket or invoice. She spoke with the manager and found out he had the invoice in a separate place in his office. When I inquired of the condition of the truck I was informed the truck had been stripped. I asked if it were drivable. She stated it had no engine or motor. On the lien letter I'm listed as the registered owner, no legal owner is listed and an interested party listed is a Dale Philips.

July 3 drove to DMV Investigations with the current follow up of events. I was informed no stolen vehicle report had been filed through DMV but there is current information of an incomplete registration. I asked if it happened to be a Dale Philips listed with it and was told yes.

July 3 drove to the motor home dealership working on my 5th wheel. Used their phone to call Department of Justice in Sacramento.inquired if a stolen vehicle report had been filed through them. Was told no and neither had a lien of sale pending been filed through them.

July 3 drove to Anderson Tow. Again the invoice was not in the usual place where the other invoices were. The same clerk / dispatcher stated the manager had it in his office somewhere. She called and left a message for the manager to call back and obtained the information needed on the truck from him when he returned her call. I had also been told by their office crew that I couldn't go out in the yard and take pictures of my truck. When the manager called back the dispatcher expressed my request to him, for pictures and he approved. I took the pictures. The truck does have the motor and engine in it. One of their employees, John seemed very nervous around me the whole time I was there. I also asked if anyone else had inquired of the vehicle and was told no.

July 4 had the pictures of the truck developed at Ritz 1 hr in Citrus Heights CA.
