Bob's Used Cars
Ripoff, bought not one but 2 vehicles and paid $1900 down and one didnt make it but 117 miles and tehy repo's the other while I was out of town trying to get the firstone back here and it wasnt but one day late and I called them! Ripoff

I got a backpay settlement and went to several car lots that were buy here pay here and finally this guy at Bobs made all teh right statements and said all the right words and convinced me that me and my daughter would be getting a GREAT DEAL with these two vehicles. One was suppose to be a 99 for windstar and the other a 99 ford Taurus and both had been test driven out of town by this sales man and he was told we were leaving town that night and had to make sure this vehicle the windstar was going to be Ok on this drive since the kids were going and he assured me he and his wife and sister-in-law had driven this van out of state to the Casino boats in Ill. And some other out of state places and that he felt I would be so pleased with them both.

He assured me time and time again this van was in sound working order and was a great steal! The same with the Taurus as he knew it was for my daughter and needed to be safe.

We took both vehicles and I paid them $1000 down on the van and $800 on the car and off I signed all the forms and showed proff of insurance and got comprehensive covering both vehicles and deal was done.

I got a driver to take the one vehicle home and I drove the van and followed. Neither car was driven anymore that day. The next morning I went out to go to the service station to gas up for the trip later that day and the vans trnasmission was slipping something awful and wouldn't even pull more then 10 miles an hour.

I called them and they told me to bring it up there and they looked it at and said maybe they would just give me another vehicle and the only other van they had was a more expensive one and they needed more money down and it was alot more fancy and sound van according to the same guy that sold the other one to me. I couldnt get my money back so all I could do was take this other van and give them more money down and more in the long run as out reservations for our trip were nonrefundable so we had to go or lose money and the car was not going to be large enough for all of us.

I took this van that was according to them also a 99 winstar something special on it as it well and went home and loaded up and off we went to the trip! We got there ok and parked in the camp ground and left the vehicle for the next two days not driving it all as we used the shuttle to get around town.

On the way home I noticed that the OD light was flashing and I pulled over and had my son look in the manual and it said to service vehicle at first convience and I called the lot and was told to " Not worry about that light" So on we went towards home and about 6 miles from our exit the van started smoking and losing power and we were really close to the lot so I went there and when I stopped all of the transmission fluid came out in the lot.

The same salesman came out and looked under the hood and sarted screaming and yelling and saying we did something to it and we had to haev put oil in the transmission and he got in my 16 year old sons face and sceramed at him to " Admit you did it and didnt know what you were doing" Yelling at the top of his lungs at us and people were stopping and looking and my grandaughter started to cry and finally this guys wife who also works there came out and took him by the arm and led him back inside and had someone else come out.

They told me they would have it looked at and get back to me. Then on Monday I called my Attorney and he told me I needed to have someone look at it other then the lots mechanic since they were accusing us of doing something to it. I had to towed by a reknown transmission place and they later called me and said it was full of stopleak or something such and the transmission was shot and it was going to cost somewhere in ballpark of $1500 to fix it and I still owed more then $10,000 on it and it never drove more then 117 miles before this happened to it. The lot refused to do anything as far as paying part or replacing it.

The payment was due on the car on that Saturday while I was trying to get the van back to town and I told them we would pay it when I came in on MOnday to talk about the van and what to do with it.

Later on Monday while I was talking to the transmission place I looked out the bedroom window and the wife of the screaming and abusive salesman was runing and jumping into the car and driving out of the driveway at a breakneck speed with all little kids out there in the road and almost hitting the garbage cans she was moving so fast and with all of our babyseats and personal items in the vehicle as well. Not a word did they say to us or come to the door or nothing after getting all that money less then a week ago for these cars and not even being but one day late and the contract says we have 3 days before they repo and late charges occur.

They refuse to work with us or talk to us or make good on anything. They tried to charge us 350 repo fee for the car and a months payment and wouldnt even let us get our personal items back.

This is a horrible way to due business and no one should be treated this way and talked to the way this man spoke to us abused verbally my son! It should have been a criminal matter and I could kick myself for not persuing that one in court.

I am disabled and have limited income as it is and they stole $1900 from me and my kids and we got nothing not one dime of it back and no car either!

How come the laws don't protect us with these kinds of places? Dont consumers have any rights against these places? We all know that if you have to go to one of these kinds of buy here pay here lots you have no credit and you have no choice and no one seems to care whether we get riped off or not.

Please stay away from bobs used cars!!
