My son, while stationed in Okinawa, Japan as a US Navy Corpsman ordered a 1996 Nissan Skyline with turbo, black colored, through Evolution Imports in August. He sent them $15,000 in September for such product and signed the contract for such.
In Nov he was contacted by Evolution Imports and told the wrong car arrived as it did not have a turbo. His request for a refund was denied. Another vehicle was ordered which was a 1995 Nissan Skyline, silver colored. A contract was never signed for this car.
My son was promised the car would arrive well in advance of his reassignment stateside in April. It did not arrive. The company president was contacted 30 April and said it would arrive around 21 May. On 19 May my son was told by the sales rep that the car had still not completely arrived. At the time of this writing there has been no car delivery. This tactic has been ongoing as in Nov he was given a delivery date of Jan then Mar then April etc.
This has created a hardship on an enlisted sailor as he had to pay for airfare to CA for his next duty station in lieu of driving his Skyline.in addition, he has had to pay for a rental car for transportation in CA. Any savings he had while in Japan is depleted.
Currently nobody at Evolution Imports will return his calls or contact him about his car whereabouts.
My son has now learned he will be deployed to Iraq shortly. Delivery of a car, if it ever occurs, becomes a problem now as he will be in Iraq.
It appears as if he has lost $15,000 to this company who will not make good on this deal. I am curious as to whether this type treatment is deliberate against our US Military?
I personally spoke with the president on 30 April who told me that a refund was offered several times to my son... A fact which my son says never occurred. Furthermore, everything we have been told prior to Evolution Imports giving us the silent treatment has been false.
I would like a complete refund ASAP given to my son. This is now becoming a financial burden on me as I am helping out my son financially.
