Auto Town
Ripoff, raised price on vehicle, they are theifs! Treated rudley

I was looking for a vehicle on the internet when I found one that I thought would work for me. Auto Town contacted me the next day and told me that they would be able to finance me no problem. About 1 week later I finally made it to Milwaukie as I live about 3 hours away and had to go around my work schedule.

When I got there they told me that they wouldn't be able to get me into the car that I wanted and proceeded to show me others. I ended up settling on a 1999 Tahoe. I owned my car and told them that I wanted no less than $3,000 for trade-in. They told me that they could do that no problem.

As I was signing the paperwork, they told me that if that wasn't the car for me that in 6 months I could come back up there and trade it in on something newer for about the same payments or get it refinanced for lower payments as my credit was less than desirable. I thought that it sounded like a good deal so I went on with paperwork and closed the deal.

When I went to take my new rig off of the lot it started doing this lurching thing so I went back and told them the problem and they said that the car already had an appointment for the next day to get a new fuel pump. They gave me a loaner car to get home with and told me to come back to pick up my new car 2 days later.

I had time to think about the deal when I got home and the problem my new car had already had. When I returned to pick up the Tahoe I told them that I wasn't feeling good about the deal and would like to try to get into something else. After showing me around the lot and getting angry with me (they made me cry) I ended up leaving with the Tahoe.

Things went good for awhile until one night while my husband was at work and was looking through an old Auto Trader from the month before I bought my car. My car was in the Auto Trader for $12,988 and they had sold it to me 1 month later for $15,995. I was acctually financed for more than they had it in there for.

I was furious but my husband said to wait awhile and when the time was right we would call them on it. So another month passed and we were planning a 5 hr. Trip out of town. My husband wanted to get a diagnostics check on the rig before we left to make sure it would run ok. The place we took it to said that it needed a tune up so we took it in for the tune up.

That night they called me and told me that they would have to replace the fuel pump because the one that had been put in was the wrong size. $800 later we got our car out of the shop and went on our trip.

When we got home we decided that it had been 6 months and it was time to upgrade to a newer vehicle and to call them on all of the things that we had found out about our car.

I called Auto Town and explained to them what I was looking for and then called them on how they had did me wrong. The guy that I talked to apologized and said that the Auto Trader thing was probably a "misprint" and that he would try to get me out of my car and into a newer one as promised.

He called me an hour later and said that he could get me into something else for a couple hundred dollars more than what I am paying now. This got to me. How can these people get away with false advertising, stealing a car (my trade-in), and putting the wrong parts into a car?

I guess for now I am stuck in this rig but I am going to talk with an attorney and I am going to try to make things right.

DO NOT shop at Auto Town. They are *&*&*!
