Failure to diagnose fix vehicle, Fraud, Did NOT aknowledge warranty, ripoff

In September of I took my 97 Chrysler Sebring into the dealership because my check engine light was on and because my transmission was not shifting properly. They did the diagnostic on my car and the following day, called me with a $2,000.

Immediately I drove to the dealership to see why it would cost so much. They said that my torque converter (which, as it was explained to me, actually shifts gears) and the O2 sensor needed to be replaced. I told them to go ahead and do the work, and at that time, told them that trans fluid was leaking from my car.

After 1 week, I picked my "fixed" car up from the dealership. 5 MINTUES LATER, my check engine light comes back on and smoke is coming from the bottom of my car. I drop it back off to them and explain to them that trans fluid is still leaking from my car. They continued to call it oil. Oil is brown, not red. This continued another 7 times.

The whole time they had my car, I was renting from enterprise. I was returning and re-renting cars so fast, their system could not credit the deposit as fast as they were taking it out.

After the fourth time of my bringing my car back to them that same week, my mother accompanied me there and that's when they started treating me with respect. They put my in a rental car and told me that they would have their top mechanic look at my car.

The next day, they told me that the first mechanic NEVER replaced the o2 sensor, probably the torque converter as well, and that they fired him, and that this new mechanic would be working on my car. At this time, they told me that trans fluid was leaking and gave me another bill of 500 for repairs. Needless to say, they ended up picking up that tab.

A little under 2 months later, my car is "fixed". No leaks and no check engine light. For the next 10 months, I did not drive my car. As soon as i started to drive my car, I immediatly noticed a trans problem and went back to the same dearlership under warrany.

They REFUSED to work or even look at my car, saying there was nothing that they were going to do. They told me that if I wanted them to look at my car I would have to pay. That's when I called their corporate office, who was absolutely no help.

In the beginning of my transmission broke down again. The dealership called it "INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE". They said that something exploded in my transmission, causing metal to shoot everywhere, locking up the trans. They recommened an over-hauled transmission at $3,300. I've been on the phone, writting letters to everyone under the sun.

I consulted with Aamco, who said that replacing the torque converter is a patch job, that it should never be done, and that for $600 more, I could have had an over-hauled transmission.

The dealership, even with my situation, is unwilling to provide any type of fiancial assistance or support. I have talked to EVERYONE including, the VP in Customer Relations over ALL Darcars dealerships, who told me "there is nothing that we can do for you. You can call whomever you want to, get a lawyer, or whatever! We DO NOT HAVE TO work on your car, in or out of warranty."

How do you refuse your own warranty? What's the point of a warranty, if darcars can refuse to look at or work on your car. Because they never fixed my car, my mom decided not to buy the new Crossfire. So now, not only am I out of a brand new car, I am in the hole $4000.

I am glad that she did not, because I will never do business with them again. I told them that I would tell every single person I came across, not to buy Chrysler because they are a piece of crap, and definitly DO NOT TO BUY FROM DARCARS, because they will give you HORRIBLE SERVICE ADVISE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT FIXING YOUR CAR, and NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY.

If they would have fixed my car the first time, or even looked at it when I came back, I probably would not be in this situation. This is definitly a learning lesson for me. People always say, go to a name that you can trust. I thought I could trust the dealership. I thought I could trust DARCARS.

They ripped me off, the same way a back alley guy would. Dealerships are no better! All they do is fatten you up for the kill. They never even gave me an option to have an over-hauled transmission put into my car.
