Progressive Auto Insurance Port Charlotte Florida
Repair Warranty is a Rip-Off Bradenton, Florida

In Sept. 2007 we had a accident with our Chrysler mini-van and Progresive Auto had the van towed to their area in network body shop and mechanic. The work took three weeks to finish and Progressive paid all but our $ 250.00 deductible. Originally I wanted the van to go to the closest Chrysler dealership which is twenty miles away but, Progressive declined. The damages were close to $ 7,000.00. I pick up the van from the shop where the insurance rep., who is good friends of the owners, was there and said it is running great and that they used used parts but, all the work is guarteened for as long as we own the van.in the next week I had it back twice because of the noises the transmission was making and the sluggish response when driving as well as a loud noises when starting up from the transmission. On the third trip the mechanic simply put mystery oil in the tank to what he said would help quite the lifters. Nothing worked for the van has run like crap since then. On 10/6/08 we took the van to the Chrysler dealer for a look see and he said the used transmission pan had all the wrong bolts put in and washers were used to hold them in place, all the threads were stripped, the wrong trans fluid and filter were installed, the flex plate was cracked, etc. The bill would be about $ 1,000 icluding some regular maintence. Progressive initially told me the parts were only covered for ninety days because they were used. I objected and the manager sent a rep. Out to the Chrysler dealership to take pictures, etc. Then the manger called and said that the work should not have been done before they got there to inspect therefore, Iwould have to authorize the dealership to disassemle the transmission and engine again for their inspection. Now the bill was $ 1,845.86 after that work and Progressive wrote a check to the dealership and me for a total of $827.53 putting us right back where we started with a $ 1,000.00 bill. He also said he would cover my five day rental which Enterprise rentals now tells me that he has not done. Progressive can kiss my a—. See if the BBB and Fox news gets the same bulls& you gave us. P.S. The dealership tells me that the mechanic who did the original shoddy work and the Progressive manager had a hugh fight at the dealership over the used transmission and the shoddy work that they blame each other.
