Ripped me off by selling me a LEMON

In February I bought a 2001 Chevy Cavalier from Town and Country Automall in Alamosa Colorado. While test driving the vehicle I heard a strange noise and mentioned it to the salesman who was in the vehicle with me.
He said it was just the fact that the tires were new and once they wore a little or I purchased a different brand that the noise would go away.

I purchased the car anyway believing it's a brand new car nothing is wrong with it.

I immediately started having problems with the car and began to take it to the service center at the same dealership.

They told methere was nothing wrong with the vehicle although there was a loud grinding noise in the front end. The technicians would say things like"too bad that truck was driving by maybe I would have heard the noise".

They called my husband at work after my various attempts to get my vehicle repaired and told him that I was crazy. They said everything tome but outright call me a liar. They treated my like I was ignorant and stupid.

I contacted General Motors who in turn contacted the dealership and asked them to look into my complaints. They finally did and said it was the transmission on my brand new car.

After replacing the transmission the loud grinding noise that I had been experiencing was still there. Again I was called a liar and told that there was nothing wrong with my car.

GM was contacted again and again they took the car back and realized that it must be the clutch on my brand new car that they charged me 16,000.00 for by the way, the clutch was replaced.

I before this spoke to the owner of the dealership who told me that he was not going to do or willing to do anything about the problem. I asked him for a refund and he laughed at me and walked away.

I tried explaining to him that i felt this car was a danger to myself and my children he did not care.

When I got my car back the third time I would be driving down the street and it would pop out of third gear almost constantly. Again I took it back at that point the service manager told my husband that if I kept making calls to Gm and anyone else about their company they would refuse to fix my car at all.

That being said he took it back and had it more than three days before he said it would pop out of gear. I got the car back via them taking to my husbands job. When he got in and tried to put it in reverse lo and behold it would not budge but they said it was fixed.

Again they took the car back and attempted to fix it. They had the car in nine months a total of 36 days. I went to the bbb, the attorney general, the media, attorneys, with no help on the issue.

Finally general motors offered to repurchase the car and upgrade to a 2002 cavalier if I paid them almost 4,000.00 in mileage on the car and for the upgrade.

What was the deal in that, They put out a bad car, town and country sold a bad car and I was the unlucky one to purchase it. Why should I pay the price? But I am still to this day.

I am driving and paying 400.00 a month on a car that doesn't even run right and I'm afraid will break down any day. I was treated by both companies like i did something wrong to them and all I wanted was a new vehicle.

Town and country and gm are the biggest rip offs I ever heard of and neither of them want to step up to the plate and own up to their mistakes.By law this car is a lemon but the law is not there to protect the consumer or I haven't seen it yet.

No one is willing to help the consumer on something like this and the companies know it that is why the feel they can and do get away with this.

I was also told by an auto painting company that my vehicle had been previously painted on one side of the car.

The strange thing about that is when we first started taking the car in for repair we mentioned to the service manager that it looked like the car may have been dropped because the entire drivers side of the car was more than an inch hire on the doors, hood, trunk etc.

They in turn sent it out to the body shop for repair. I also was driving around with a defective air bag cover on the passenger side of my car that could have seriously hurt my children if it would have inflated.

Everyone knew this car was bad and still sold it and did not care of the dangers it put my family in.

Where does the lemon law come in to play when no one stands behind it?
