I bought tires for my car and had an alignment done. Within 9 months the tires were bald on the outer edges. I went to the garage that put them on and they told me I should have had another alignment done after 6 months and the tires should have been rotated at 7,500 miles.
There were only 9,000 miles on the car and it had been only 9 months since the last alignment. I find it very hard to believe that would have caused the tires to go bald, unless the alignment was not done properly to begin with. When I took the car back a second time they told me the reason was there was not enough air in the tires.
Why did they not tell me this when I had brought the car in 3 months prior? No one mentioned it then. Yes they probably did loose some air as they were so bald. At 14,000 miles the threads were showing through. How many of us have bought new tires not done an alignment or rotated the tires at 7,500? And they never went bald within 9 months.
