I am 22 years old, and last summer I had a fight with my parents and they took my car away from me. I was in a position where I felt I needed a car to replace it and went to 1st Class Auto Sales. The guy I met with was very nice and went to as much trouble as possible to get me to buy the car that very day. He knew my situation and I even told him I thought my parents would give my car back eventually. His response to this was, "If they give you back your brand new car, bring this back and I'll refund you." Being the age I am, I didn't think to have him sign anything saying this was refundable. Big mistake. I drove the 99 Altima off the lot the next day and realized the radio was busted. Secondly, anytime I made a turn, freezing cold liquid would pour out from under the dashboard and all over my feet. I almost got into an accident from jerking my foot away from the brake. Then I got pulled over by a cop who pointed down the road at my hubcap that had fallen off. The left taillight was out and the rugs were all moldy from being soaked all the time. I took the car back to the dealership and made them look at it. He said they were still waiting on some "phantom" part for the car that was supposed to come in and never did. Apparently THAT would make a big difference in all the problems with this car. I told him I had spoken to my parents and they were willing to give me my car back, so I wouldn't need the Altima anymore, especially since I'd had it for less than 24 hours and it was disgusting. The guy looked at me like I was nuts, and told me the bank wouldn't allow me to get a full refund on the car. He told me I owed him for the FULL AMOUNT regardless of the fact that I'd had it less than a whole day. I surprised him and called the bank, where they told me it was the dealer's discretion whether I owed anything or not! When I repeated this information to the guy, he ignored me and got his boss involved. My parents had to go to the dealer and argue with the boss, who only budged to the point that I'd owe him $1500 for "fees and documentation." After I'd been told I didn't legally have to pay anything unless they wanted me to! So instead of upholding his promise and letting me return the car, less than ONE DAY later, he made me pay $1500. It was like a really expensive car rental, just a crappy horrible car. When I reminded the guy he said I could return it, he actually GOT TO HIS FEET and approached me like he would've hit me if he could. "I NEVER SAID THAT!" he screamed. I would highly recommend you NEVER go to this place to buy cars. They are sleazy, disgusting, liars, and have horrible business practices.
