I bought a new car from Mario Garcia at Anthony Underwood Automotive in Bessemer, AL. After all day searching for the "perfect car", I ran into Mario at a fast food joint who said he just had to have our old car. So, naturally, he did everything in his power to get us approved. Which by the way was through Credit Acceptance Corp. Who has rip off reports on here. I picked out the car, test drove it, and it drove like a dream. I loved it. I didn't have the total down payment so they agreed to let me pay most of it, drive home in the car, and come back the next day with the rest of it. Not even 24 hours after I signed the papers and payed the rest of the down payment, I am on my way to bessemer flea market, and my car just quits running and will not crank. I had to call Anthony Underwood Automotive to come get me and the car, and they put me in a rental. They had my car a total of 3 days (one of them being a sunday, and they were closed), and nothing was done to it. They informed me that they drove the car and it seemed fine. Boy did they drive it. I left the car with them with a half a tank of gas, and got it back and it was flat on empty. The car ran better for about a week before it was back in the shop. This time, for 5 days. Again, I was informed that they test drove it, and saw no problem. The day after I got my car back, the check engine light came on, and it is still on to this day. The trac light comes off and on, and my car will not get over 30 going up a hill, and that is with it floored. I was told I had a warranty on my car (you have to have it with credit acceptance, they MAKE you buy it, which you can see if you just look it up on this website) but, NOBODY takes the type of warranty, or they continously tell you that it is not covered. I was told by Anthony Underwood Automotive that if I went and got a statement of what all was wrong with my car, that they would fix it no charge. I have since done that 3 times, and yet, they will not return my phone calls. I have been yelled at, cursed at, and hung up on by these people. What gets me the most is that I told them I had to have a dependable car as I have 3 small children that I always have in the car with me. I can not afford to break down every day. Worrying whether or not I am gonna make it home from the grocery store. I am not the only one with this problem. I have since ran into 3 different people with the same problems that I am having. I just hope that they don't do this to someone else without being "punished".
