I got my car towed into White's Automotive because it died on the road. They told me that they would look at it and let me know what the problem was. I told them that I wouldn't get it fixed if it was very pricey because I was planning on getting a new car that year.
They called me and told me it was just the heating core that needed replaced and it needed new plugs. It would run me $305.48. I told them to go ahead and fix it.
When I got my car back, I got it home... I live walking distance from the auto shop, so it wasn't much of a drive.
I drove it to work that next morning and it started overheating in the first 5 minutes. I called White's Automotive when I got to work, and they told me it was probably just an air bubble and to bring it back after I put some water in the coolant receptacle.

They called me up that day and told me it was the head gasket and now I had to pay $1500.00 to get it fixed! They said there was nothing wrong with it the day prior and it was running great, but "sometimes these things just happen" (... Despite my complaints that the car was overheating from the time I got it... I said, no, it was never fixed).
Despite a long back and forth (the owner avoided me for a period of WEEKS, ponning off the front office woman at me... Who had no answers) of trying to get a refund for the false diagnosis, or faulty repair, I got nothing. I was offered $75.00 cash and $75.00 of oil changes after I finally got him on the phone weeks later... As if I would EVER go back!
I talked to some people in the area, and discovered one story that was even worse. A man went there for an oil change and got his car back needing costly repairs.
Don't ever go to these people... They are complete rip off artists who will do anything for a buck.
I reported them to the Consumer Mediation Unit, and they completely lied at their rebuttal to my complaint. I have the paperwork to prove it... For example, they said I "brought my car in stating it was running poorly" when I had TOWED it in and it WASN'T RUNNING AT ALL... Among other lies.
