Complaint / Review
Desert Honda
Ripoff, Horrible Customer Service, bad experience

On October 06, I visited Desert Honda to inquire about an advertised used car they listed for sale. After test driving the car, I noticed it made an uncomfortable noise while driving. I asked the salesman about it and he replied he wasn't a mechanic so he didn't know what might be the cause.

I understood and decided to leave since I wasn't satisfied not knowing what could be wrong. He instructed me to wait. I'm new to shopping for cars and didn't realized he went to get a "Manager" to talk to me.

Upon arriving, he rudely asked what was the problem. I explained the noise and he insited that he test drive the car. I guess he must have believed that there was nothing wrong because he came back and literally threw the license plate (for the test drive) on the dash board. Obviously this made me feel very unconfortable in addition to the outright lack of decent customer service including an antagonizing tone of voice.

Eventually I pointed out the noise upon which his tone calmed down a bit. I honestly felt unwelcomed by this dealership throughout this point. I inquired about service records and received the same rude responses. Even the salesman who assisted me earlier noticed the uncalled for attitude as indicated when I made eye contact with him regarding the behavior of the "Manager".

I should have just left as I initially intended but by this time, I just knew that there was no way I would be going into any negotiations or deals with the current conditions. So I stated that I will just leave (instead of apparently bothering the guy). He replied with a "let him go. I was going to give it to him for $3,000..." and a lot more with complementing physical gestures.

I'm no idiot. He must have felt that I would be so devastated for missing such an unbelievable opportunity. He can take the car to unspeakable places if he wants, but I would never recommend Desert Honda based on this experience. Hopefully, he eventually got fired and future customers can expect better.
