I was advised my mechanic to have the transmission in my automobile diagnosed. During a phone conversation with Michael, I was told that an external diagnosis had proved inconclusive and I need an internal diagnosis. After the internal diagnosis had been performed I was told by Michael Reed that I needed a rebuitlt transmission. An estimate was given at that time of 2,295.00 was given for base cost, hard parts and torque converter. During a 3 week period, I called the repair shop several times to inquire about the status of my car; during this 3 week period the repair shop never initiated a call to me regarding my vehicle. On each occasion I spoke to Wayne Reed. The last time I spoke with Wayne I discussed dissatisfaction with the service. Wayne informed me that the transmission had been pulled twice and they could not determine what the issue was. I told Wayne that I would be happy to pick up my car and take it somewhere else for repairs since they coud not determine what the problem was. On the day that I discussed picking up my car, Wayne called me back 10 minutes before clsoing to tell me that my car had bee repaired. I picked my car up from the repair shop several days later. After haven driven several miles, I returned the car to the repair shop with the following complaints: Check engine light on; vehicle shutting down when the car is in drive, park, or reverse; car jerking when shifting in neutral; car leaking fluid; unable to drive vehicle without one foot on gas and one foot on brake simultaneously.
In my opinion, the my car should have never been released to me in this condition; any competent mechanic would have known of these issues. It is my opionion that after I discusssed taking my vehicle elsewhere for repairs, my vehicle was released to me to gaurantee the owners receipt of the 2,200. Repair bill.
