My girlfriend leased a car from Nuvell several years ago, and has all but $400.00-something dollars paid off on it.
We used to live in Gulfport, MISSISSIPPI and were displaced to Georgia due to Hurricane Katrina. We lost our house, two-thirds of our stuff, and I lost both my jobs. After FEMA money ran out, we have been living on only her paycheck since August until last month when I finally started my new job.
Both of my creditors have abolutely bent over BACKWARDS to help me. They have lowered my interest rates until next year, gave me months of payment holidays, and have asked ME what else they can do to help, every time I call. They have even cried with me over the phone.
We knew Nuvell were a*holes going into it, and we didn't even BOTHER asking them for any help during this ordeal. My girlfriend was off work for several months three years ago, and Nuvell acted like it was an insult to them that she even asked for some payment breaks while she looked for work in a tiny Mississippi town that had no jobs.
We paid that car note through the whole ordeal. We paid when it hurt to pay. We rolled change to buy ramen noodles so we could eat, but we paid them for that car that was damn near destroyed in the storm, but is thankfully still ticking.
I am curious as to where these Nuvell employees grew up, because apparently it was in a time and place where calling and harassing people 24 hours a day suddenly made money appear in people's bank accounts. They are obviously from a place where constant telephone harassment makes people's paychecks come faster or, better yet, makes paychecks appear even when you don't have a job.
Nuvell has been calling and mailing letters double-time for some reason lately. Why in God's name would someone pay the entire balance on a car, save for $400.00, and then just stop paying them?
The only thing I can think of is that they're mental. That must be it. They must hate their jobs so much that they wield contempt for anyone they have to call during the course of their work day.
Either that, or they're just BAD people. People who harass just to make others feel bad.
Well, the person I feel for is anyone else from the Gulf Coast that might have a lease through them. I feel for my neighbors because I lived what happened down there. Just because it's not the big story on your TV every day anymore doesn't mean people aren't still hurting and in need.
Nuvell is a horrible company with no heart and who doesn't give a crap about anything but money. I hope the whole company goes under in the future. I know it would have to be a blessing to so many who have endured their abuse.
