In the process of helping a friend who needed a car I let her use my name and she was suppose to make the payments. However she like so many of you got behind on the payments and Americredit threaten to repossess which they did.
I immediately tried to stop the sale of the vehicle and save my name in the process, which I did. Americredit asked for $1935 up from the original $1650, they stated because another month was becoming due. I worked feverishly to come up with the money and sent it to them in two amounts $1650 (Monday) and $285 (Friday) through Western Union which they accepted.
Well, I thought all was well and good but when I had not heard from Americredit as to when I could pick up the car I called. To my surprise Americredit had taken my money and sold the car as well.
I spoke with a man name John who stated he would speak with the supervisor and that I should call her also, which I did. I was pretty much just blown off by the supervisor who told me to go ahead and suit.
I immediately contacted a consumer advocate who has been very instrumental in getting me my money back and trying to get Americredit to remove any negative reports off my credit as well as reduce the amount owed to zero. She is also trying to see about punitive damages because we might have to go to court against them.
Had this company been honest I was prepared to place them on auto payment each month so they would be guaranteed their money but since they have decided to be deceitful they don't deserve anything.
