While driving home from college my daughters drain plug fell out from the oil pan after 300 miles. Wal-mart (who changed the oil) tells me that they are not responsable. Wal-mart people or there associates, Claims Management Inc. Almost come to the point of saying I caused the drain plug to fall out 30 miles from my house, while I was 700 miles away in Nebraska at a wedding. They even suggested that someone at the college pulled the plug out or loosened it up and my daughter drove 20 miles before the engine locked up.
Wal-mart keeps telling me I have to prove the drain plug that's missing caused the catastrofic damage to my engine. I don't need to tell you Wal-Mart is not being as neighborly as they like to make you believe. Now I'm out about $1200 because I had to replace the car that they killed, not to mention lawyers fees, the towing and a mechanic they made me take it to. The $1200 is all I think the car was worth not what it would cost to fix. I would like to get them to help me with my loss at a minimal cost to everyone but I doubt that is possible!
I'd like to let you know I hate dealing with lawyers I dont think there necessary for most things. But Wal-mart is making it necessary. Wal-Mart's goal is to make you drag them into court, furthering the costs to you and at minimal cost to them because of Wal-Mart's infinate cash flow and lawyers on hand. They know most people can't afford to pursue them in court because of Wal-Marts ability to make it expensive and time consuming.
