Auto Systems Experts caught my friends car on fire ripoff

This actually happened to Shelly, a friend of mine. She brought her suburban to Midas because it wouldn't start all the time and the times it did, it was hard to start. She has fought with them for months and they have done so many things it is hard to remember the exact order in which it all happened but I'll try. It was there the first time for about a week and they called her to tell her to come pick it up because it was fixed. When she got there, the suburban was on fire. To top it off they did not have any fire extinguishers on the premises (they had actually just gotten in trouble the day before because of this) Needless to say, she was not happy.

They told her they would fix everything for no charge and called her a couple of weeks later to tell her it was ok. Well, she went to pick it up. She tried to start it and it wouldn't start so she told one of the guys that worked there to start it (In case anything happened they could not blame it on her). When they did there was a very loud 'boom' and black smoke went everywhere. Again, they told her they would fix it.

They called her a couple of weeks later and told her to come get it. This time it actually worked long enough for her to drive it home and around town for a day or two with no problems. But, she looked under the hood when she brought it home and noticed that the parts they replaced from the fire they replaced with junkyard parts instead of new parts (she could tell because of a yellow sticker that was on the parts). She took pictures of this.

A few days after she had it, it began to become hard to start and then wouldn't start at all. So she called Midas to tell them and they said they would send a tow truck out the next day to pick it up and bring it in. Three weeks later, 6pm on a Saturday, it finally happened (I was there). But once it was brought in, they have not fooled with it. It has been sitting in the same exact position for three months (Red suburban on the left side).

She has filed a complaint with the BBB, with the Midas organization (many times), and she has kept track of every little thing that has happened - including times, dates, and names of people she has talked to - on the computer. So far it is nine pages long and still no ending in sight. I recently moved to NM so I haven't heard any other developments so far.
