Bad customer service, mechanics lost the key, one month later vehicle was stolen. Ripoff

Throughout the past year my father, who is completely deaf, has been having problems with this company. He was having problems regarding his transmission.in January I contacted Cottman Transmission asking for their prices in completely rebuilding the transmission. At that time they were really nice we all agreed for this company to perform the services requested.

After setting up a payment plan totaling up to over 1800.00, my father and I assumed our transmission problems were over. Well, to make a long story short, after numerous visits due to new problems with the transmission, my father took a drive that was about 70 or 80 miles from where we live. As he neared his destination, the van broke down. Because my father is somewhat familiar with fixing vehicles, he felt strongly that it was the transmission. Because he was 70 or 80 miles away in Allentown, PA, he wanted the Cottman out where he was to fix the transmission because obviously the one from Harrisburg can't do the job right. And also, he did not want to go back to the Harrisburg Cottman because the last visit he had they were completely rude and nasty.

Well, initially when my brother, who lives in Allentown, contacted Cottman in Harrisburg and described what the problem was. Cottman at first tried to convince him that it wasn't the transmission and if it wasn't they won't cover it. So my brother asked it the local Cottman center could take a look at it and fix it. Keep in mind, the warrenty states if the vehicle breaks down 50 miles outside of the original service shop, take it to the nearest Cottman center. Well my brother and my father did. For some reason, after the Allentown Cottman mechanic confirmed that it was the transmission the Harrisburg Cottman did not give them permission to fix it. The van sat there for days.

The warrenty states that towing is not covered and my father was willing to pay for the tow. We tried to contact the Harrisburg Cottman and ask them when will they be able to fix the van. As more days went by, my brother went to the Cottman mechanic in Allentown to take some personal items out of the van to find that the van was not there. The mechanic told my brother that the manager from Harrisburg came and got by attaching it to his SUV and left.

Furious, my brothers girlfriend called the Harrisburg Cottman's office and by surprise the manager there began to yell at her saying, "What do you want now! I got the van here to Harrisburg and you all are still bothering me! I've been sick these past few days and you guys won't get off my back!" Outraged, she tried to contact the home office in hiladelphia and report them, no one called her back.

Few days later, I called Cottman asking how long will it be till my father can pick up the van. They responded with, I misplaced the key. I said, "What? You mena you lost the key?" And he says, "Thats what I said isn't it? You father has to come down here and bring another key." So he did, a day later the van is finished. The van ran perfectly, but then one month later the van is stolen in broad daylight at about 3:15pm. A neighbor saw the whole thing and saw a man get out of a SUV, unlock my fathers van door with a key and start the van with no problem.

Next day after the vehicle was stolen, I called the mechanic and asked for a receipt because he never gave my father a reciept for that last service. He says, "sure whats your name?" When I told him, he snapped. "What's going on! Why do you need it?" I told him for personal reasons and asked that he also write down that he lost the key. "For what? I have the key!" he says. He proceeded to say how he doesn't have time for this and hung up on me. Sounds suspicious right?
