I want to file this report to this manager named Jose Miranda in Firestone Tire &Auto Center in Plaza Blvd. This gentleman tried to suck me in to a ridiculous break job on his shop. This happened last August 25 I brought my car to his shop to get my break done because I told him I'm hearing a squeking sound on the front. I have a valid coupon for $69.99 that is good untill end of next month. This coupon is for regular standard bradk job and it covers parts and labor. Anyway I brought my car and I told him I need a break job and I want to use this coupon. He told me (Jose Miranda) that they must first do a complete break inspections for $19.99 before they could do anything. So, I said ok and go ahead eventhough I told this gentleman that the problem is front break. After about a couple of hours (more or less) he (Jose) told me that I have a very serious break problem. He told me my front break do need to be change as well as my left and right rotors. He told me that they were both out of specifications, that they were worn out and not even. He gave me the measurements and told me that they can't re-cut them because if they do it will be really thin to make it even. So, he want to charge me about $1,492.00 to replace both rotors and break as well and that coupon that I mentioned at the beginning is now not valid because according to him this is not standard break job now. I was suspecious about everything and I want to get a second opinion I told him to put it back and I was charged $19.99 for his inspections. Once I got home me and my brother open it and really measure those front rotors and found out that it's still good and it's even.
See I forgot to mentioned that I'm a machinist for about 15 years and I know how to measure this to make the long story short I spent $50.00 for that break job. So I want to put this for those people that can be victimized by this shop.
