I'm still in shock after learning that my 99 Nissan Altima needs about $5000 in engine repairs 6 days after Jiffy Lube oil service.
I took car to my regular mechanic to find out what the noise was. He didn't want to tamper with anything until Jiffy Lube had a chance to observe. The Jiffy Lube "technician" checked the oil level and filter, said everything was "tight", threw his hands in the air and said he didn't know what else to tell me!!!
My mechanic said that the engine must have lost pressure at some point (it was OK at that time), but the damage was done. I should add that I have been a customer of Jiffy Lube for years with this car and with prior vehicles... Friends warned me not to use them, but it was so convenient. I'm still trying to figure out what I can do about this.
