Before I was insured with esurance, I checked the internet.
Apparently they have a "habit" of giving you a quote, then once you are hooked, come back with a "revised" quote at a higher rate.
Yup, they tried that one on me too.
I entered all the correct and valid info, including that I'd had 2 accidents, 1 my fault, the other not.
Got a quote at 915 if paid full 6 months. Alot cheaper than my current GMAC insurance.
But knowing their "trick" I kept my GMAC insurance just in case.
Sure enough, 2 days after getting "insured" they come back and tell me that the got info from Choicepoint which said I had 2 accidents, and they up'd my insurance from 915 to 1050.
WTF? The quote I received showed in the info, I had entered 2 accidents.
Esurance "claimed" that at the time of the quote, they couldn't validate my Motor Vehicle Record, so only quoted me with 1 accident.
Huh? Ignore the info I gave you, give a quote, and then come back later and up my insurance because the information I gave you was correct?
So lets summarize...
1 I entered all the valid and correct data. (including 2 accidnets, 1 not my fault)
2 received a quote of 915. Purchased Insurance.
3 2 days later, I get a bill for 121 because choicepoint showed I had 2 accidents on record/
4 I responded for a rate review, questioning the rate increase, given there was no change in information affecting my quote.
5 Esurance responds, "claiming" my quote as only for 1 accident (why would they quote on incomplete information I didnt even provide?)
6 I respond that My quote included data for 2 accidents,
and why did they ignore information I gave them, give me a quote, and then increase my insurance later, when verifying in fact I'd given the correct 2 accidents?
