We bought a new Jeep in 11, asked salesperson about "College Graduate Rebate". Salesperson was not familiar with the program, went to office, came back with "good news"- we would get the $ 400 rebate. We would have to provide Airpark with the contact information for the university, they would verify that I was going to graduate within 6 months.
They made a copy of my student ID, wrote down the address and phone number. Then they asked me to leave a security deposit for the $ 400 which would be refunded as soon as they would receive the money from Chrysler. (The $ 400 rebate was considered in the purchase price.) We paid that with a credit card.
After 2 weeks we called them up to inquire when they would reverse the credit card charges. The office manager told us we would have to wait until the University would issue the diploma as soon as we would submit a copy of the diploma, they would reverse the credit card charges.
In April I submitted a copy of my diploma. No response. Called them up after 2 weeks and was advised that the lady who submitts the application to Chrysler was sick. Asked for office manager. Now her response was "You are not the primary buyer, your wife is the primary buyer in the contract." We asked for Coy Pointer, the owner of the business and left a message for him saying that it does not make sense that the customer ultimately has to pay for the lack of knowledge and the negligence of his sales people. He let Willy return our phone call and he came up with all kind of arguments, like we got the car already soooo cheap, cheaper than anybody else and we should feel ashamed to continue asking about the college grad rebate. Finally he came up with a new argument, I had signed that I was told to submit evidence for my eligibility within 3 working days. I told him that I had signed nothing like that. He sent a copy of a document I had never seen before in my life, and which I would have never signed since it said that I had given a check to Airpark Chrysler Jeep, what is not true, since we paid the deposit with a credit card.
We both know for sure that someone "manufactured" this document because we already told Willy that we would go to small claims court about the $ 400. Someone messed up in this company and is trying to cover his ass. We don't even know who was the manager who signed this fake document, the signature does not match the signature on all the other documents.
These people are acting criminals who should be avoided under any circumstances. You would not do business with the mafia either.
