I had my vehicle (1998 Plymouth Voyager) serviced by AAMCO in Tampa Florida, 11612 Florida Avenue 813-935-7677, in Feb. The service provided was a "rebuilt transmission" at the cost of over $1,600. Sept. Of the same year I moved to Stockbridge GA and in March I had transmission issues that I am told by AAMCO in McDonough, GA. Will involve having the transission "rebuilt" and I will need another $2,500 plus change (AAMCO 796 Hwy 20/81 W. McDonough, GA 30253).
Only AFTER they take the transmission apart to see what needs to be done am I told that my warranty has expired.
Now regardless of the warranty expire I find it completely and totally unacceptable business practice to use the generalization of "rebuilt transmission" as a blanket verbiage for ripping off customers. A rebuilt transmission should last more than 12 months. I am sending this to any and all that will listen, to include all local television consumer advocates.
