Ripoff cheaters liars scam artists rude harrassers dis-customer service company should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law

I just happened to find this site yesterday. God Bless this site! My mother and I have had the worst time dealing with this company. Every time we call to make correspondences, we're not even greeted with a "Hello, thank you for calling Triad Financial...", It's more like "HEY YOU! WHERE'S YOUR PAYMENT?!" I swear this company is the worst!!! Here's my gripe:

Just recently, just over two weeks ago, I did a re-finance to take care of some debts including all my credit card debt, school loans, and the vehicle that I co-signed on for my mother, which unfortunately got financed by Triad Financial. Anyhow, our re-finance agent got all the payoff amounts and we went to closing. All my debts had been taken care of and all my payments were sent to each respective company. I also became a first time home owner as the re-finance covered the purchase of the house I now own.

Particularly with Triad, we knew of their lousy service and how quick they are to jack your car away from you - they had done this to us before - yep, towed our vehicle, a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder, in the cover of night, even though we made arrangements to have payments made in a few days, that didn't matter to them; they don't respect verbal agreements and they don't care about their customers. At least not enough to warn you that your account may be in jeopardy and your vehicle may be towed away if you don't keep up with your payments. I used to complain about utility companies in my area, but in comparison to Triads service, they smell like roses. We were able to recover the vehicle, but they never removed the repossession from my credit report.

Getting back to my re-finance story, we told our re-finance agent to make certain that they were aware that a final payoff payment was on the way. Our re-finance agent spoke with a rep at Triad and made the arrangements to have a payment deadline so all bases would be covered. Everything was fine at this point. We closed on March 23 and had checks dispersed to us on the 28th. We sent our payment to them on the 30th in the morning. Just like many, we've heard stories about holding checks before processing them intentionally to make your payments appear as being late - the thing is, we didn't hear this from this site, or make assumptions, AN ACTUAL EMPLOYEE TOLD US THIS OVER THE PHONE - S/HE TOLD US HOW THEY DO CROOKED BUSINESS, AND IT'S MUCH LIKE THE POST FROM ONE OF THE EX-EMPLOYEES THAT POSTED A REBUTTAL IN ONE OF THE OTHER POSTS REGARDING THIS COMPANY. This person asked that i never reveal his/her identity but that this was the case. For added measures and to avoid any claims of a late payment per their customer service, we had the payment over-nighted, stamped with the date it was sent by from the post office, and had tracking on the payment courtesy of USPS. Well, it got there before the deadline and sure enough as you can imagine, the worst happens. At 5AM April 1st, there's a knock at the door and it's a towing company, already setup with my mom's SUV ready to be hauled away. We explain to the towing company that the car is paid for AND THAT WE MET THE DEADLINE, but that didn't matter to them. We called the police because at this point, considering that we had a payoff sent to Triad, it's now considered intent of theft of property. Regardless, they drive off with her vehicle. Must add this note: the towing company did not leave any information with us with any instuction on how to recover the vehicle stating how many days we would have to reclaim it, etc, - i checked this out with some people and yes, it is a federal offense, so not only is triad in trouble, but the towing company is now in danger. And sure enough, triad has sent nothing as well regarding the reposession. We call the police, but they don't bother to help and say that we are aware of what is going on and we have to deal with the finance company. The things taxes pay for these days...

We do just that and contact Triad multiple times that day to explain what happened and how outraged we are. Unfortunately, this is hours after the vehicle has been towed, but right as their office opens. All they say is "Oh My God! How can this happen?!" acting sympathetic all of a sudden. No one in the company tries to escalate this to a manager or supervisor to make something happen - in other words, making any attempts to release the vehicle. They instruct us to call certain people within the company and much like everyone else's experience, we get the run-around and are only left with their answering systems to take our calls. Each time, we call, we tell them that they have our money and the car needs to be released. No one calls - That's no surprise.

The weekend passes by and no one bothers to call us. We call them on Monday, April 4th and request for an explanation of this occurrence. We're told by one person that the vehicle payoff was not met, and that there's an extra $659 dollars left to be paid before it would be released. We ask where this figure is coming from since just less than 2 weeks ago, we were given an exact payoff figure. We made multiple calls about this and spoke with different reps, each time asking the same question. Here were their responses:

- It's part of the remaining interest.

- It's part of the remaining principle.

- I have no idea, but that's what needs to be paid to get your car released.

Tuesday, April 5th, we receive a statement from them showing the payments that have been made this month, There were 2 payments in January, I'll also mention that they were 2 full payments in January, able to cover 2 months of payments, and the payoff that they posted and clears on April 1st. So even though we paid them in full, AND THEY TOOK OUR MONEY, we no longer have a vehicle

Well, we've tried to be civil, but now we've had enough. Since no one within the company wants to ever have you speak with a supervisor, we've decided to let our attorney deal with them. As an added note, I've personally started spreading the word to everyone I know and don't know about them and their rotten business ethics towards their customers. I'm right there everyone who feels that this company should get sued. CIVIL SUIT ALL THE WAY!!! Whoever gets this thing started first, please do what you can to gather everyone together. If I get started, I'll do my best to have you all contacted. This will be monumental.

Must make this last note:

As many of you are experiencing this issue, I strongly encourage you to contact your appointed delegates. They are there to talk to in situations like this and may have some lee-way in handling situations that require influential intervention. As more hear about this, things will get rolling, I promise you.

Good luck
