Sansone Route 1 Automall
Ripped off, treated unfairly, disrespectful ripoff

Ever since I bought my car from this auto mall I have had nothing but problems.

When I first bought the car there were two noticeable problems on it that the dealer promised they would fix as soon as possible. It was an exhaust leak and strut leak. For those two things to get fixed it took a month, of calling and coming down to talk to them. My car failed inspection because it didnt get fixed in time.

The next month as I was driving my check engine light came on. Then as I was driving again my whole car shut off. My father who is a mechanic had to change the engine control module fuse because it blew. I went to get a diagnostic at my father's shop, it said the oxygen sensor's were malfunctioning. I went to the dealer's and told them what happened.

After waiting a couple of hours all they did was change my sensors. What amazed me is that they didn't even check why the control module fuse went out. During that visit my father also noted a noisy hydraulic lifter. They ignored that claim as well. I got a diagnostic after this was fixed and it said I had no input to my engine control module.

Before my check engine light incident happened I went to the dealership to complain about what was going on. The salesmen who sold me the car didn't even really listen to me and just took me to the service department. He really looked like he didn't know what he was doing. He told the service manager my complaints which were at the time the noisy hydraulic lifter and the service manager told me lifter noise was normal.

They said theyd check it out but it would be hours before my car would be seen. Upon hearing that I refused to let them see it. The salesman then told me "You bought a used car what do you expect? The service department can't see you the first day, you have to wait like everyone else." Funny thing was that he couldn't look me in the face while saying that. I left that day in anger.

The next time I went to complain was when my check engine light was on. This time I spoke to the manager. I told him my story hoping that he'd symphathize with me, but instead he looked at me with a straight face the whole time. He told me there was nothing he could do and all I could do is trade the car in. I agreed to see if that would work. When all the paper work came down I found they appraised my car for only $5,500. I paid with taxes 14 grand for it.

Now I still had a loan on the car so they stuck the rest of it to the price of the car I wanted. They then had the nerve to ask me if I had a down payment. Calculating all this it came out to 21 grand. I immediately left feeling angry again.

I came again a week later to get my car serviced for the torn axle the shop noticed. I waited about two hours and they told me that only half the part came in so they had to order the rest. Amazing! I came in for the third time and it was finally fixed. During that time my v-belt was squeaking as well. On the workorder it said they do a 120 point inspection. I highly doubted that because they didn't even notice my belt needed to be changed.

I came in again because I had a bad grinding noise when I stopped. My father knowing it was not the brakes said it was the strut that needed changing. I went and told them this information as well as the information about my car having vibration, noises behind the instrument panel, etc. My car was in service all day and on the work order it said they couldn't identify the grinding noise problem but they ordered the parts for the vehicle anyway. What I found amazing again was that my car wasn't even fixed and they once again found nothing wrong with it. They had to rely on my information once again to fix the problem.

In the past six months, I have been to the service department 17 times; three times for the same thing. To the dealership to complain three times. My car still has vibration problems, has a humming noise at idle, the engine computer is still malfunctioned, and the instrument panel still makes noise. The odometer looks like it might have been tampered with as well.

Doing a car fax report I found out this car has had four different owners in its 40k and three years of life. Two owners here in New Jersey and two in Pennsylvania. This car was listed as a fleet vehicle and then sold at two auctions. I wonder why.

I was treated with disrespect and blamed for everything. I was also ripped off; I paid 11,000 for my car without taxes. I bargained for 10,000 but the manager said "your being a little ridiculous that price is too low." The service department never acknowledged any problem, I always had to tell them the exact thing that was wrong for them to fix it. My mistake was to get my car from that dealer and to sell my old car. I filed a lemon law report with a good law firm and now I hope I can get justice for what I have been through.
