My husband and I purchased a vehicle through Eagle River Park and Sell. We opted for the National Warranty (Smart Choice), not really so smart. The warranty was $2000.1/3 of what the vehicle cost. We entered into a promissary agreement with Eagle River Park and Sell to pay $1800. Shortly after we took posession of the vehicle we started to have problems. To make a long story short, the motor blew up and we found out that the warranty co. Was bankrupt. We still owed the dealership part of the promissary note. The cost of the motor and labor was just shy of $5,000. We repeatedly asked the dealership to make good on a portion of the cost to fix the car. We asked them to cancel the promissary note and we would pay for all the repairs. I know that some people have sued and won. We however do not believe that is the answer. This dealership has since sent us to collection. The warranty bankruptcy issue "is not their fault, and they are not liable to pay, " so I was told. To all consumers beware of second rate park and sell dealerships.
