Last year, I supposedly had my transmission fixed in my 1999 Mazda 626 at this company because when I went on the highway, the OD light would blink after about and hour of driving at a speed of 70 or more.
I went to the dealership for my car and they kept servicing the car, and telling me that there was nothing wrong with it. So I decided to try somewhere else. When I took the car to AAMCO they told me that the reason why the OD light was coming on was because the transmission needed to be taken out and be resealed, and the piece in the transmission that makes the gear change was damaged.
So I ended up spending about 600.00 in this. Remind you, when I took the car there, I was only having problems with the transmission's OD light blinking. Now, I have a transmission that jerks, takes about ten seconds to change gear, smelling of the transmission oil burning and clicking. All of these things were not happening until I took the car there.
When they so-called fixed my car, and I started to having these problems, I decided to take my car to the dealership where I bought it from, and they sent a trained Mazda technician from Jacksonville, FL to look at my car and they told me that the reason why I was having all of these problems was because AAMCO left screws and bolts missing and the transmission was put back in wrong, and they were not allowed to touch it because they had not repaired.
When I took the car back to AAMCO, they told me that the transmission needed to be rebuilt, and they had never mentioned that this would be a possiblility when I took my car there the first time. Now I am in win-lose situation and I do not know what to do.
