GM Software Update

I took my Cadillac CTS to be repaired on February 21 because the key would not come out of the ignition when the car was turned off. I was told I needed a new computer system. After the new system was installed and %u201Cflashed%u201D the key still would not come out of the ignition. I was then told the sensors needed to be replaced. Needless to say, they key is still in the ignition. After many missed deadlines and several phone calls, I am now being told that they are %u201Con hold.%u201D The repair shop has indicated this is a wide-spread problem, their hands are tied until they receive a software update from GM and my vehicle cannot be repaired until they receive this. I have been told that the shop has been in contact with GM on a daily basis and they are promised it is forthcoming but have been given no definitive date. So, essentially I am being held hostage by GM. I am quite troubled by this since my entire family drives Cadillacs and I was wondering if anyone else is encountering this issue.
