After an auto accident, ABC Tow picked up my vehicle and towed it to their private, secure storage lot. The next day I went to retrieve personal belongings from the vehicle. The owner would not allow me to have access to the vehicle until I paid his tow bill, which exceeded $120.00 for a quarter-mile tow plus storage for 1 day.
I called my insurance company and arranged for the vehicle to be moved to an automobile repair facility. The repair facility then called ABC Tow and made arrangements for the transfer of the vehicle. Once that was accomplished (while I waited), the owner then permitted me to enter the vehicle to retrieve personal belongings.
It was during this time that I noticed that my Black & Decker (brand) power drill had been stolen from the vehicle. There did not appear to be any other items missing, just the drill. I informed the owner that it was missing and his response was to the effect that HIS drivers would never do such a thing.
The drill itself was probably 30 years old, so it had no relative value other than the fact that it was MINE and not HIS. It's not the value that I'm complaining about, it's the fact that this company has at least one thief in it's employ and has done nothing to return the drill to me.
