A friend and I went to IHOP around 3 AM. Our server seated us and brought us our drinks. Everything was fine, we were joking around with him and he was joking back. I was out of soda, so he took it to refill it. As he was walking out, he muttered the word "B*tch" under his breath!
I asked my friend if she heard him, and she was as shocked as I was. Of course, I got very angry. It would have been different if I was being an annoying customer, or if he was even playing around. But, he wasn't. He came back in, and I confronted him. I asked him if he called me a b*tch, and a look of fear crossed his face. He was caught! I asked him if he could please apologize, as I had done nothing to deserve that. He refused, so I demanded to talk to a manager.
He also refused to get the manager, and my friend was begging me to drop it. We are also servers at another IHOP, and she didn't want to jepordize our jobs. I told her that no way I was going to drop this! Customer service is all that restaurants have to keep them going, and had he done that to the wrong person, it could have been a lot worse.
The manager finally came out, and she was as rude as he was. She said that she didn't believe me, and that I had better leave before she called the cops! They still won't do anything or say that their in the wrong. I know that I'll never get a Sorry out of them, and that's just wrong.
