Promises not kept - customer service

The DQ on Kemp in Wichita Falls, Texas is in desperate need of retraining in customer service and keeping promises that are made. This began with a request for a Father's Day Blizzard Cake and has turned into a major disappointment. I ordered the cake 3 wks early and was told 4 days before Father's day that it could not be made; for that I got a refund. Then the manager calls & wants"to make it right" & offers to make me a cake for free. Being a person who loves to learn I stopped in & asked the manager if she would be willing to teach me how to decorate with the whipped topping. She says yes & we set the date. I show up at the agreed upon time only to find out that there has been a problem with the schedule & no one notified me that there was a need to reschedule. At this point, the assist. Manager asks me to call the store later in the day; which I did, only to be asked to give my phone number so the assist. Manager can call me back. It is now after 8PM on the night she was suppose to call and I have heard NOTHING. The store owner had to call the manager to even know if it was possible to make the cake; he has since disappeared from the picture. The manager according to the cake decorator has a bad tendency to make promises that cannot be kept; which I am beginning to believe. At this point every time I hear a DQ commercial I'm filled with disgust. I want to give the business the chance to make it right, but unfortunately, I don't know how they can at this point. Any suggestions would be apprecaited.
