I was at the McDonald's Walmart in Fairview mall Walmart in Kitchener, ON. I was sitting down eating a A&W burger while I waited for my wife to order some McDonal's food for us. A few moments later the manager confronts me in front of the other patrons telling me I can't eat a competitors food in here. I told her I'm just waiting for my wife who is ordering food and that I am a long time McDonald's customer. She tried to put me on the spot by asking if I would let someone eat another company's food if I owned my own store. I told her people bring pop and water from other places in here all the time and it doesn't make much sense for me to wait outside and let my wife eat alone just because we have different food. She insisted that I did something so wrong and that I should leave but eventually left me alone. I told her I would report this to head office.
I found this manager was so insulting and disprespectful and showed a complete lack of common sense with how she handled the situation. Even if it is against store policy, she chose such a poor way to handle it. Being this strict with policy doesn't make any sense because now they lost a customer and everyone in the place saw what happened.
