I stopped in at the McDonalds, Union Station, Washington, DC On 8/11/09, around 4:30pm. Got in line behind 3 people. Well, by the time I got to the register, I see it was closed. When the person to my left was done ordering, I attempted to put my request in but the person behind the register said rather surly that the line formed to my left. I stated that I was already waiting in a line and it was apparent that it was shut down without evidently noticing that there were still people in line. Are the customers supposed to have both ESP [To Know When They're Going To Close the Register] AND X-Ray Vision [To See Thru The People Standing In Front Of Us]???
McDonald's needs to find a better system for handling lines maybe they could take tips from customer service lines at the bank? They seem much more efficient at handling customers in line. I doubt I'll go back there anytime soon.
