I fell for a "free trial" offer where I ordered two small packages of coffee for a few dollars. The offer CLEARLY stated to wait two weeks for delivery, at which point I had 14 days to try the coffee and either return it or proceed with a monthly membership where two coffees would be mailed each month until I canceled. Within 5 days of ordering the free trial and BEFORE the free trial coffee ever arrived, my card was charged THREE different times for $39 EACH TIME.
I called the company immediately, canceled the "membership" and they told me to decline delivery of the packages when they arrived, which I did. One month and several calls later, my money had yet to be refunded. I called my bank and they issued a refund for 2 of the 3 charges pending investigation of the dispute. That was one month ago, my original cancellation date was October 7. Today, November 30, ANOTHER Seattle Coffee Direct charge appeared on my account, this time for $79. Wachovia is thankfully refunding that charge once it fully posts to the account and canceling my card. However, I now have to wait 7 business days for a new card to arrive right when I'm trying to do Christmas shopping.
This company is obviously running a huge SCAM, I hope people will read this and avoid the headaches I've had to deal with for their phony free trial offers!!!
