First of all this is not sour grapes. As of today I am a former employee of the Steak and Shake company. Consumers, Steak and Shake does not care about you because everything is about their bottomline and their drive times. If you want a total dining experience pray that there is no one ordering at the drive through because management encourage that these people take precedence.
I thought all customers were the same. Apparently at Steak and Shake I am incorrect. Drive through customers, don't be so specific because no one will bother to double check your order. Why, accuracy takes a backseat to getting you in and out of the window in 2:15 or less. If your drive through person takes that extra second to check your order and make sure that you leave satisfied, they get yelled at by management because this two second accuracy check hinders the total drive times.
Have you had a server you liked? Sorry, they are gone because they believe in customer service in a place that overall does not.in this economy, it is difficult to find work. Well if you want no senority, no health insurance, no vaction pay, no real chance for advancement, grossly incompetent management, and apathetic coworkers, this is the place for you.
I look at all sides of a situation before I comment. I have been a customer, a waitress, a dishwasher, and a cook in many establishments.
As an employee, I have taken pride in my work, no matter how menial it may seem. As a customer, I have been able to put myself in others shoes. Steak and Shake has proven that as a company, not just this particualar store, does not respect pride in their employees' work or the satisfaction of the their lifeblood, the people who choose to patronize Steak and Shake. There are not deals for the consumer and you are being nickle and dimed in such a way that it makes me sick.
If your shake does not appear full, that is not a mistake. You have not paid less for it but you are being forced to take less for your money. I am sorry. There are so many other choices to make as far as eateries are concerned. Please choose a place that can at least put on the act that you and your business matter. Steak and Shake can not and will not.
