For consumer complaints, Christmas Day.
My wife and I went to LAUBERGE RESTAURANT at 301 LAUBERGE LANE, SEDONA, AZ 86336 For a Christmas buffet at noon. Their food was a well below par, especially for a very exclusive well known resort hotel that resodes along side the beautiful Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona. I am told that their rates to stay all night start at $400.00 per person.
My buffet pay receipt states:
PRE-TIP AMOUNT $142.64
TIP $28.53 (that is 20% of the pre-tip amount)
Since when is a patron even supposed to tip at a cafeteria or buffet? And, 20% is five points higher than my usual tip in a non-buffet restaurant where you have your own particular waiter or waitress also, since when is the gratuity embedded in your billing? What if your service was horrible and you did not want to tip the waiter or waitress?
