C.E.O. Deliveries
Forced Gratuity, Horrible Customer Service, Owner Attempted Character Assasination

I am so appalled by what I just experienced with this company that I'm (almost) at a loss for words.

I have the task of ordering lunch for the staff once a week for my company of about 15 people. Due to my regular delivery place being closed I used CEO Deliveries. I will never... EVER use them again.

It wasn't until I had finished placing the order that I see the system automatically calculates a 15% tip for the driver based on the total food bill (with tax & delivery). This meant that we were going to have to pay the driver $27 to drop off the food. There is no way to change the dollar amount so I called the company & was told if I don't like it, go somewhere else. That should have been the tip that things were going to go downhill fast.

I have used catering companies all around the city. I've never seen a forced driver tip of this amount. Amazing. I should quit my job today and do this for a living. If I have just two drops an hour I'll be making $50 an hour. I'm obviously in the wrong industry.

It was too late to cancel the order and find somewhere else, so I thought fine, I'll just deal with it. There is a note section for the driver instructions and so forth; so on mine I wrote that I felt the tip was exceptionally high but we had no control over it and that I hoped we'd get service that matched the tip.

The food showed up on time. Some guy that looked like a young Sylvester Stallone shows up. He asks me if I'm the person that ordered the food. I say yes. He then proceeds to pull out the order form with the note on it and tells me "I almost refused this order because of this note. When you go to a restaurant do you argue about paying your server the standard 15% gratuity? If you don't like the fee's go somewhere else". I was being berated by a driver right in my office. WTF?

He did not just have the nerve to walk into a place of business and talk this way to someone. But oh yes, he actually did. So I said, "If I had known that I would have to take crap from a driver I would have canceled the order. I can't believe you have the nerve to come in here and say these things. I understand if I were to show up in a restaurant with 15 people I'd have to tip at least 15%. But that is because the wait staff is EARNING it. They are coming to the table repeatedly, refilling drinks, checking on the food and catering to the group. That is a BIG difference from a driver that shows up at the restaurant, picks up a bag, gets in a car, and drives less than 2 miles down the street, double parks and drops off the food. That, IMHO does not warrant $27. Give me a break.

I see him out - floored by what just took place. I call CEO Deliveries to recount my experience to Shenene the customer service rep. After listening to me - she puts me on hold for a good few minutes and then comes back to tell me she is going to call the driver back to the office and I'm like, NO WAY. Don't send that jerk back to the office to ask him what happened. That was the only resolution they offered. Deplorable customer service!!!

So I posted my experience on Yelp.com (as I'm an active member) so that others could possibly avoid ended up in this sort of situation. The owner of the company "Larry" from CEO Deliveries gets on to the site and posts a long defamatory and personal attack on me (the customer). He lies about the actual events that took place and told the public that customer service has called me back - refunded my money and he didn't know why I was attacking his company. I was so outraged that I posted my bill to the website so that everyone could see not only the company bill but the credit card bill to.

It would have been very easy for Larry to find my information and contact me if he was truly concerned about my experience with his company. But rather than do that he took this dirty route of attacking me in a public forum personally. His slander campaign ended up deleted by the site since he was violating rules, and mine is still there.

I urged the owner to contact me if he wanted to resolve things. But all he did was continue to try and bash me in the forum. What kind of business owner operates like this?

Finally after days of this going on he calls me at work -since he had the work number all along. He apologizes to me for the events that took place, admits he lied about the way customer service handled me, and told me "I was trying to do damage control and I guess I didn't do a very good job, I'm Sorry."

He STILL didn't offer to refund me, he never reprimanded the customer service rep that told the outright lies about how she handled the issue. The above apology was all I got.

I'm not the first person in the area to complain about the way this company does business and I doubt I'll be the last. Buyer beware. Total Rip-off.
