Well lets start with a my mother had a presentation and thought the product sounds & look great so she gave me a call and informed me about LTT gourmet foods and thought I should look into to it, that was on a Thursday and by Friday they delivered the freezer and food to my mother.
So I agreed to listen to the presentation on Monday August 21st 2006 Sounds great so during this presentation I asked how much is the freezer and the sells rep told me that it cost about $2200 but because I'm ordering the food and the freezer it's discounted and the amount comes out to be $7,000.00 over a three year time frame.
My husband and I asked over and over if we don't want the service or product any more I can cancel at any time with no charges he repeatedly said no so again I read over the cancellation agreement and here it is a 15% restocking & driving fee if canceled after three days, he replied they really don't charge for that.
I then start the contract and told the rep that I can't get the product for about two weeks beacuse i have no room In the garage and I need to get an old car and rearrange my garage to fit it in, he then called the office and they tried to get the sell asap they offered to put a freezer in my house and when i'm ready they will come back and move it in the garage.
I thought to my self no that's not what I want so i post dated a check for 2 weeks for the set up and start date. I then asked the rep does he have literature for the product that he is selling his response is no the company should give the customers literature to the customer. I'm halfway into the contract and asked is there anything else oh yes that's all i need is a deposit for $199 well that was not stated until the contract was almost finished.
I did some reserch on lTT after the presentation and realized that the freezer is over priced so I called the next day and the LTT gourmet foods manager was really upset that I wanted to cancel my order that would take place in 2 weeks he immediatlly tells me that he ran my credit already less than 24 hrs I believe he thougt i was stupid i asked him what does that mean.
He than go on to say well you are going to get a statement I asked him why would I get a statement on something that I don't have he says what I was trying to say you are going to get a letter letting me know that my credit was pulled. And then he goes to say well you had my sells rep at your house for 3 hours and you couldn't afford a $199.00 deposit on a $7,000 freezer I than told him he need to retrain his sells people on what to say a what not to say because the sells rep made me think maybe i need to do research on the company.
Well My mother unfortunetly got ripped off because i told her to cancel this program and when she called she talked to the same manager 2 hrs later and he told her you singend a contract and you will be sued for the freezer $7,000. We looked back at the cancellation agreement and it's state that the buyer may cancel at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after that If the cancellation occurs after food or appliances have been delivered, you will be charged a restocking & driving fee nothing to do with being charged the whole amount for the freezer and remember (the product was deliverd the next day no time for the three days before the product was deliverd)
My mother called the manager back and was told that she was going to have to pay back the finance company because the finance company paid LTT already from friday to tuesday Wow! My mother asked the manager who is the finance company I signed a contract under your terms with LTT Gourmet Foods not the finance company.
Does this sound like a scam and rip-off or what.
