We had a very bad Kona experience. My son did research for months on the bicycle he wanted and decided on a Kona Entourage. We googled where to get Kona in South Africa and was directed to a dealer in Durban. He quoted us, we accepted the quote, and offered to pay the deposit. Two weeks later the dealer came back to say that Kona has changed the distribution in South Africa, and even though he - as a dealer - could bring the bicycle in at the Euro equivalent price, with the new distributor on board, the bicycle will now be 30% more. We contacted the distributor and he spanned us a story about import costs etc and quoted incorrect values to us. We contacted Kona directly. They gave us the Euro price on the bicycle, but suggested we deal with the local distributor. When we explained the situation, they told us that they are not prepared to do anything, and we now have to purchase the bicycle at a 30% increase. Needles to say this has left a very sour taste in our mouth.
