My friends and I went to Longhorn's last Wednesday, hoping to enjoy a nice lice lunch. It was a cold, blustery day and we asked to be seated "somewhere warm". The place was almost empty at about 12:30pm and the waitress sat us at a booth right next to the kitchen entrance. The 3 of us immediately noticed that cool air seemed to be blowing on us and we discussed the fact that it could be that a door could be open in the kitchen. We asked our waitress if the heat could be turned up, but she told us that it was controlled in Florida and nothing could be done. After observing that most of the few customers in the restaurant had their coats on, we assumed moving would be useless. Our waitress, who seemed a bit ditzy and proceeded to tell us that she's been clumsy lately (She dropped something-I can't even remember what now) and that she heard that you can get like that when you're pregnant... Obviously we had to ask... So happy for her! Anyway, she proceeded to tell us she wouldn't be bringing us bread, they were out... It "was a crazy, busy weekend" and they were out of alot of things-and she proceeded to list them all. Besides the bread, no steaks, or beef items, no mashed potatoes; then with a laugh she said, "a Longhorn Steakhouse with only fish and chicken!" Totally aggravated by now we thought about leaving, and thinking back we should have, but we decided to stay and get a sandwich. (Which to be honest, though not what we wanted, it was good none the less-though my one friend only got 7 shrimp with her meal and that seemed odd.) After we finished and were freezing and uncomfortable (Literally freezing... Our hands, feet and noses were like ice!) the manager/asst. Mgr. Came by and asked how our lunch was - we explained the coldness had really ruined the meal and she said, "Oh, we could have turned it off!" Really?! We asked why the problem with lack of food and she said "they" told her it was a really busy weekend and they were expecting a truck at 2pm-seems like if they were out of their MAIN staple a truck could have gotten there before Weds... But, needless to say I guess she sensed that wasn't much of an excuse and then she proceeded to tell us that a friend of hers worked a Ruby Tuesday's across the road (These places are right off the Interstate) had a busy weekend too and they were out of food, and another restaurant her friend worked at was busy in Dublin too..."I'm SO glad I was off!" After all this it took her quite awhile to finally say how sorry she was about all the trouble, not sorry to even comp us our iced tea or maybe a dessert? The total experience was awful and it will be a LONG time before they see us there again. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone -this is not the first time there has been a problem at this Dublin, GA Longhorn's... I've just had enough!
