I too have had my experiences with Wells Fargo and I've only been with them 3 months. Friday, after my paycheck gets deposited and another check goes through, I'm cancelling the account and switching to another local bank. I have been upset about two overdraft fees that must have been initiated by hidden fees unknown. I'm upset because I record EVERYTHING, every transaction, everything - in my checkbook. I'm the type of person who will hold up a line in a store while I record my checkbook - I've learned the hard way in the past to watch my balance like a hawk. So when I woke up yesterday and saw that my account was $15 off my bookkeeping and went $5 in the negative I was floored. I knew I would get hit with at least one 33 (overdraft charge) but got hit with two 33's instead. But this morning was the real incident that would make you want to throw your computer out the window - I notice a $1 charge for just checking my balance at an ATM. Now it wasn't a Wells Fargo machine so perhaps the charge didn't come from them directly (I also wasn't forewarned of a
"check your balance" charge, which ATM's usually warn you before completing the transaction). As a result, I have an extra dollar charged to my account and since it's in a negative balance already I can see Wells Fargo slapping me with another $33, again for a $1 balance inquiry charge at an ATM. When it does post, that is when I begin my search for a new local bank.
