We are having a time with Ameriquest Mortgage. We have been hit by 3 hurricanes and Ameriquest is witholding our funds. They have had our check for over a month now, sitting on it. It is there policy to delve it out in 3 stages and send inspectors out. That is all fine, however if the work is not completed within a 6 month period they can put it in a hazard loss account that may be used to pay amounts unpaid under the Note or Deed of Trust/Mortgage, whether or not then due. Nothing about repairing the home to its original state.
It is impossible getting a contractor in the state of Florida to repair or redo your roof unless you know someone or have the funds. No Ameriquest does not give funds out until all work is completed upon its three stages to release funds. This is ridiculous. Haven't Floridians been through enough with all 3 hurricanes let alone having to deal with or worry about if I am getting my money to do my repairs. Someone help!
