I applied for and recieved a providian visa card. I had the visa for about four months before emerge bought my account and it was automatically transferred without my permission. I allowed the account to go over the limit which was my fault and i paid the $30 over the limit fee. I also payed ten dollars over the minimum payment and i was still over the limit. This went on for a few months. I could never catch up between the 23.83% interest and the $30 fee every month so i was told the account could be closed. I closed it and i am still being charged 23.83% interest and $30 dollars a month. Which works out to about 60% interest.
In one year i now owe $726.69 dollars on a 287.00 balance even though i've been making payments every month. This company is loansharking. I dont feel like there trying to get this balance payed off at all. I think think this is a scam and that is made even more clear to me when there is no web site-no customer service-no physical address. If there is a lawyer out there brave enough to take on this company i will back them up. I have no criminal record not even a parking ticket. I am employed full time at a mail order pharmacy. I will talk to the media or whoever I need to talk to in order to stop this obviously mafia influenced company from doing business.
