I truthfully feel that I have a legitimate complaint to write. I understand that companies need to be paid and paid on time; however, I have run into some problems and the deceptive practices and tactics of harassment used by Citifinancial have not helped. For the first time in the 29 some years that I lived at my home I have gotten behind in my mortgage payments.
It started when Citifinancial bought our mortgage from Key Home Equity. We were not behind at that time, this coupled with the fact that I had lost a good paying job two years ago and finally a year ago got a job that does not pay that well. To make a long story short, our savings helped and we fairly well kept current.
The savings are gone and I have not been able to find a second source of income.
Besides that my wife cannot work because of her illness and our medical bills are getting higher although we have insurance. We contacted Citifinancial Mortgage to see what we could do and where the address for the payments were to go. I admit, we should have acted sooner. Citifinancial Mortgage sent a note to us saying that we were way behind.
We tried to discuss and make arrangements because they said to call and work things out. Guess what, they are not interested in making any arrangements. All they want to do is get their money and get it all now! Several different times we talked to representatives and they said it was okay for us to make a regular payment plus a little to catch up our back payments over a period of time. They acted sypmpathetic.
Little did we know this was the beginning of a "good rep", "bad rep" scenario which continues until this day.
Today, 4 Oct at 8:30 A.M. I walked in and my wife was on the phone with a Citifinancial Mortgage rep who was very rude and told my wife that such arrangements did not matter to Citifinancial. This was after other reps said it was okay. The rep even suggested that we get a loan from somewhere to catch our back payments up! Now, if we are having a hard time catching up our past payments, why would we want to ad another loan to the mix. Not only was the rep, rude she said a few things to my wife that were uncalled for and unnecessary. I almost had to take my poor wife to the hospital because of this company today. We finally got her blood sugar back in balance and she quit vomiting.
I believe that Citifinancial Mortgage should stop their harassment of us and try to work with us. I know it will be hard, but If they keep lying to us and continue to ad charges, how will we pay them, when we are having a difficult time catching up now?
